Recently, we had the pleasure of hosting 10-year-old Eadie, her family, and their six dogs for a weekend break near St Austell. Eadie wrote such a wonderful, detailed review of her holiday that we wanted to share it word-for-word
Here is Eadie’s guide to the ultimate family holiday in Cornwall!
This summer I went to beautiful Cornwall with my amazing six dogs. It is the best place ever.
You have got your own private field where you could set some agility equipment up and have some practice and fun, you could do some training and of course you could play a fun game of fetch with your dog. The barn we stayed in is nice and toasty with your dogs.
The barn is right next to your field, you have got a patio in front of your barn with a gate so they aren’t going the toilet anywhere else. In the house you have your own living room and they kindly provided throws so your dogs can snuggle up with you on the sofa. Then on the other side of the room you have your own little kitchen, they have very spacious cupboards and they even welcome you with a little welcoming treat in the fridge ready for you. As well, they also provide a little treat for your dog.
On to the next part that makes your nice, cosy house interesting. Your bedrooms and bathrooms are down stairs! If you want your dogs to come and snuggle with you at night you have to bring your own linen. When you feel tired you can walk down the stairs and get your self nice and cosy in your comfy bed ready to have some sleep for the next wonderful day coming.
Eadie’s suggestions for day’s out.
The next day coming maybe you could go Lappa Valley and have a fun time with your dogs. You can go on trains, you can go on pedlo’s with your dogs and do a few laps on the pond. If you want to let your dogs run around loose to let some steam off, there is a 10 – 15 minute walk in the woods (but you still have to keep your dogs on the lead) and there is a field you can let them off. Also you could have a game of frisby and your dogs are still allowed to go on that field.
Maybe if you want another option, you could go St Ives for a day. There are really pretty beaches but some beaches you can’t go on with your dog. You could have a nice chill with your dog and have a drink by the pubs. There also is dog friendly boat rides where you can see the beautiful seals and if you’re lucky enough you might be able to see some dolphins.
I highly recommend Bed and Basket for the best holiday ever at beautiful Cornwall.
